Jobs that are currently available at the Human Neuroscience Laboratory include:
The Department of Neurology and the Committee on Computational Neuroscience at The University of Chicago seeks a postdoctoral fellow in the neurobiology of human stroke recovery, with emphasis on functional magnetic resonance imaging of brain reorganization and remodeling, and on modeling this behavior with distributed computational models. Prior experience in systems neuroscience, computational biology, or a related field is desirable.
The fellow will become part of an international consortium focused on the merger of computational, cognitive and clinical neuroscience to understand the reorganization of brain networks is response to damage or degeneration. A key element is the emphasis on active integration across domains, which provides a unique training opportunity for the successful candidate. The group includes researchers with strong expertise in statistical analysis of neurophysiological data, nonlinear dynamical systems, computational modeling, neuroimaging, cognitive and clinical neuroscience. Fellows will benefit from the annual two-day meeting of the entire group, as well as more frequent meetings of smaller research groups. Group activities are funded by the James S McDonnell Foundation.
